Arcadia Barcelona offers a variety of courses taught in English in our center. The Center has a very strong Liberal Arts orientation (Fine Arts, Language, Art History, Social Studies, Marketing). The Center requires all students to take an introductory course on Catalan society which highlights the most important aspects of its history and culture. A key element of this course is a 7- week basic Catalan language course. Also, courses are offered in Spanish through Estudios Hispánicos, a school within the University of Barcelona. Students are housed individually with Spanish families or in apartments shared with international and/or local students. A Housing Coordinator supervises the different aspects of the program to ensure the students' well-being and adaptation to the culture. Ongoing cultural activities, day trips and weekend trips are organized and included in fees to provide students with the opportunity to be more involved in the host culture and explore the country. The Academic Program at the Arcadia University Center for Catalan, Spanish and Mediterranean Studies aims at providing an academically rigorous and exciting program to students from Arcadia University and its partner institutions. Arcadia University, a leader in prestige and experience in the world of study abroad, is committed to engaging students academically and culturally in their host countries. To this end, the Center for Catalan, Spanish and Mediterranean Studies offers a variety of unique courses that bring a complete and precise perspective to Barcelona and Catalan society, in its Spanish and European contexts (economic, social, cultural).
